Job Description and Requirements:
Crawford County Economic Development Authority is now accepting applications for an Economic Development Director. Crawford Co. has a population of approximately 13,000 people and is located in Central Georgia. The county seat is Knoxville, GA. Crawford Co. is approximately 25 miles from Macon, GA, and 20 miles from I – 75. Crawford Co. is an agricultural community with strong potential for growth in retail and manufacturing.
This position is responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing the Authority’s economic development plan, programs and activities. Duties include, but are not limited to, developing strategies to attract new businesses, encouraging expansion and retention of existing businesses to promote a stronger economic climate and expanded tax base, identifying and targeting businesses and industries for the county, promoting and marketing Crawford Co. as a viable option of business/industry, and performing other related duties as assigned. This position reports to the chairman of the Crawford Co. Economic Development Authority.
Minimum qualifications: min. of 3-5 years experience in economic development, preferably working in a rural community; bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, marketing, economics or related field (master’s degree and appropriate certifications in economic development preferred).
