Are you working to gain the skills and knowledge to be at the top of the economic development profession? Apply for a scholarship from GEDA to help you meet your goals! A key part of GEDA’s mission is the professional development and continuing education of its members. In addition to the listed scholarships and grants, the Professional Development Committee assists in sponsoring the Basic Economic Development Course at Georgia Tech, the Development Authority Execs Skills Institute, and a study group for GEDA members preparing for the CEcD examination.  In total, GEDA’s professional development investments for 2008 are nearly $15,000!

Eligible applicants for the following six (6) GEDA scholarship programs - Basic Economic Development Course, Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) Exam, Economic Development Finance Professional (EDFP) courses, GEDA Annual Conference, GEDA Spring Workshop, and International Economic Development Council (IEDC) courses - are all GEDA members in good standing. Financial need is the leading criterion, and among otherwise equally qualified applicants, preference will be given to local practitioners.

Eligible applicants for the Development Authority Executive Skills Institute at UGA include GEDA members who are in good standing and hold an executive position with an economic development agency. Financial need is the leading criterion.

Financial need is the leading criterion.
