Laura Hope Whitaker is the CEO of Extra Special People, Inc. (esp, Inc.), a nonprofit transforming communities through experiences of belonging for individuals with disabilities and their families. Beginning her journey with ESP as a college volunteer, Laura stepped into leadership at just 19 years old and has since grown esp, Inc. into a nationally recognized organization with programs like Java Joy, a mobile coffee cart, and SEEABILITY, a clothing social enterprise. A passionate advocate and speaker, she has delivered a TEDx talk, has been recognized as one of Georgia Trend’s 40 Under 40, the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s Most Admired CEO, and UGA’s Alumna of Distinction. Laura continues to inspire audiences to see ability, cultivate joy, and build inclusive communities. Laura is going to share what leadership looks like and how it can oftentimes be messy.
