Jason is a registered Professional Engineer in Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi. As an environmental engineer, Jason has provided his expertise to assist GEC’s clients in a wide range of regulatory issues. From emergency/hazardous response, to remediation system design, to property assessments prior to a real estate transaction, to many others; Jason’s knowledge of the regulations and the appropriate actions required have provided GEC’s client with a skill professional for their needs and projects.
In the community, Jason Cooper serves on the United Way Community Investment Committee, as a Team Leader. He served as the 2015-2016 Chairman of Keep Columbus Beautiful Commission and is a board member of the Rotary Club of Columbus. Jason also serves on the Greater Columbus Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and the Boys and Girls Club of the Chattahoochee Valley Board of Directors. Jason is a 2012 graduate of Leadership Columbus and a 2007 graduate and past board member of Leadership Macon.
As for professional societies, Jason is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), the Water and Environment Federation (WEF), and the Georgia Society of Professional Engineers (GSPE), where he is a current member of the state Board of Directors and is the immediate Past-President (served as President 2016-2017). He was elected the GSPE 2008 Professional Engineer of the Year in Private Practice.
