The Liberty County Industrial Authority dba Liberty County Development Authority is one of Georgia's few constitutional authorities. Its mission is to develop and promote industry for the public good and welfare of Liberty County, Georgia. The CEO plays a crucial role in assuring the successful attainment of this mission by performing the managerial, supervisory, and professional functions and duties required to fulfill the mandate of enhancing the economic growth and development of Liberty County in a comprehensive, expansive, and liberal manner.
Emphasis is placed upon forming and managing a staff that works as an efficient, cohesive team focusing on the retention, expansion, and recruitment of numerous types of industries that can provide the benefits of sustainable, rewarding employment of Liberty County's citizens.
Such efforts necessitate both short-term and long-term strategic development of infrastructure and services designed to meet the needs of assorted industries, as well as the development of strategies to incentivize their decisions to remain, expand or newly select Liberty County for the growth of their companies.
The CEO provides direction and leadership toward the fulfillment of the LCDA's mission and successful implementation of its development philosophy, working closely with the Chairperson and Executive Committee in enabling the Board of Directors to fulfill its governance function. Minimum Experience: Ten (10) years of work experience with county development authority or economic development office of a city, regional commission, chamber of commerce, state agency or utility company. Combination of experience and education may be taken into consideration.
Minimum Education: Associate Degree plus substantial completion of work toward Bachelor's degree. Bachelor's degree in Economics or a degree requiring significant course work in economics or marketing is better. Master's degree in Economics and professional designation as a Certified Economic Developer by the International Economic Development Council is best. Combination of experience and education may be taken into consideration.
