The Atlanta BeltLine is the largest revitalization effort in the history of Atlanta, encompassing almost 20 percent of the city. It features 22 miles of light-rail streetcar transit, several crosstown streetcar transit line extensions to serve the city’s inner core, 33 miles of paved urban trails, over 1,300 acres of new parkland, 46 miles of streetscapes and intersection improvements, one of the South’s largest installations of public art, brownfield reclamation, and the creation of 5,600 affordable housing units and 30,000 jobs in the neighborhoods surrounding the underutilized and abandoned railroad corridor. Atlanta BeltLine, Inc (ABI) is seeking to hire an Economic Development Data Analyst. Successful candidate must be self‐motivated, driven to understand and solve complex community challenges using data, and willing and able to work in a small organization environment that requires a well‐rounded skill set.
The Economic Development Data Analyst’s primary responsibilities will include regular economic data analysis, database management, external education (to include equity and inclusion, community engagement, and impact assessment), technology support, and analytical management and strategic direction support. They will promote the Vision, Mission and Core Values of ABI while fostering a collegial work environment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Under the general supervision of the Economic Development Director, the position will work across multiple departments with responsibilities for the following:
Data Analysis
• Collaborate with ABI’s Community Data Analyst and GIS Manager to develop and execute an organization-wide data strategy.
• Manage a portfolio of economic data from multiple sources to support a data-driven program management approach.
• Design and implement protocols for the collection and management of quantitative and qualitative data.
• Identify data gaps and implement databases and data collection systems to address existing data deficiencies.
• Support standard and ad-hoc data and technical requests, providing accurate and timely analysis and insightful interpretations.
• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends and patterns in complex data sets.
• Clearly communicate data analysis, findings, results and provide recommendations to varying levels of the organization.
• Write substantive reports, briefs, and memos independently or as part of a team.
• Use technology and other data visualization tools to support organizational efforts.
• Support research, proposal development and evaluation projects simultaneously.
• Support business development activities by clearly and concisely presenting data and analysis to partners, stakeholders, and community residents. Database Management and Technology Support
• Support efforts agency-wide to increase adoption of Salesforce CRM system.
• Work with an external consultant(s) to draft business requirements for Salesforce CRM enhancements.
• Support in the development, maintenance, and monitoring of performance and equity metrics.
• Assist in the creation of service delivery goals and reporting framework for service delivery partners.
• Assist with the integration of MailChimp, Zoom, and other platforms to support programs and initiatives.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, visualization, data science, or related field.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in data analysis preferably within the economic or community development, real estate, planning, housing, marketing, or related field. This role will emphasize the use of tools and methods to visualize data but will also have a strong focus on analyzing and interpreting data to identify trends and patterns to inform decision making.
Required Skills:
• Data & Business Analysis, Data Management, & Research
• Experience with Salesforce or other comparable Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform
• Data visualization in Excel/PowerPoint and/or other related a data visualization tools
• Experience with data from state government, US Census, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Costar, etc.
• Ability to clearly communicate complex information for general audiences
• Understanding of the impacts of institutional and systemic barriers on marginalized communities and a commitment to integrating equity and inclusion throughout all facets of your work.
