Position Summary

The Education Outreach Manager supports the mission of the SRS Community Reuse Organization (SRSCRO):

We strengthen and connect the Savannah River region through collaboration, advocacy, and education — connecting communities, industry, educators, and the Savannah River Site to expand opportunity, strengthen talent pipelines, and inspire the next generation of innovators. Together, we invest in people and partnerships that ensure our region’s continued leadership in nuclear advancement and shared success.

This position leads initiatives that connect students, educators, and employers across the two-state region (South Carolina and Georgia) with programs that promote awareness of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) career pathways — including SRSCRO’s signature STEM Career Connections ™ program.

The ideal candidate is a creative and detail-oriented professional with strong organizational, communication, and partnership-building skills. The manager will design and deliver high-impact outreach experiences, coordinate educational events, and oversee multimedia content that inspires the next generation of the regional workforce.


Key Responsibilities

Program Development and Outreach

• Plan, coordinate, and implement SRSCRO education and workforce outreach programs aligned with regional workforce and industry needs.
• Partner with the Director of Workforce Initiatives to maximize regional workforce development programs.
• Manage the STEM Career Connections™ program, including scheduling school visits, coordinating employer and speaker participation, and producing educational and video content that highlights local STEM careers.
• Support the SRSCRO’s efforts to lead the region’s involvement in Nuclear Science Week.
• Build and maintain partnerships with regional K–12 schools, technical colleges, universities, and workforce development organizations.
• Support the development of classroom materials, outreach presentations, and digital resources that promote STEM awareness and career opportunities.
• Represent SRSCRO at community, school, and industry events to promote education initiatives and strengthen relationships.


Event Development and Management

• Lead the planning and execution of educational events, workshops, and community engagement programs that connect students and educators with industry professionals.
• Oversee logistics, budgets, vendor coordination, and event promotion to ensure smooth and professional execution.
• Collaborate with staff to develop event marketing materials and post-event reports highlighting outcomes and participation.


Video and Content Production

• Coordinate the production of STEM Career Connections™ videos, including storyboarding, filming, interviewing professionals, and collaborating with media vendors or partners.
• Partner with the SRSCRO team to develop and edit video & digital content for use on the SRSCRO website, social media, and partner platforms.
• Maintain brand consistency and quality across all outreach materials and multimedia products.


Program Evaluation and Reporting

• Track participation data, feedback, and impact metrics to measure program effectiveness and inform continuous improvement.
• Prepare reports, success stories, and updates for internal leadership, and stakeholders.
• Identify grant and sponsorship opportunities and assist in proposal development related to education and workforce outreach.


Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, communications, event management, public relations, or a related field.
• >3 years of experience in education outreach, workforce development, or program management.
• Experience in event planning and execution.
• Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
• Familiarity with video production and digital storytelling.
• Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with video editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut, Canva video, etc.) preferred.
• Willingness to travel on behalf of the SRSCRO as needed.


Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of the Savannah River Site (SRS) mission, workforce ecosystem, and related STEM industries.
• Experience managing multimedia education campaigns or community engagement programs.
• Understanding of regional workforce development initiatives and STEM education programs.


Reports To

This position reports to the President & CEO while maintaining a direct relationship to the Director of Workforce Initiatives.
