Position Summary
The Executive Director will be focused on three key areas: branding and marketing the region; expanding the area’s talent pipeline; and elevating regional economic development in North Fulton. The goal for the professional is to create an organization that maximizes region-wide performance.

Reporting Structure
The North Fulton Economic Alliance will operate under the Greater North Fulton Chamber’s umbrella. The Executive Director will report directly to the Chamber’s President and CEO and be accountable to a NFEA Board of Investors. Other NFEA team members will report to the Executive Director.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in the area(s) of economic development, community development, real estate, public relations, public administration, business, economics, and/or marketing from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
  • At least five years of executive management and leadership experience in the business, economic development and/or community development field, government, chamber of commerce, association, or a combination of these. - A proven tenure of creating and/or leading an organization through visionary growth and meaningful change to improve the business environment of a region or specific area.
  • An innovative, creative, and strategic thinker who has experience in developing relevant initiatives and goals to enhance the Greater North Fulton tax base.
  • Experienced team builder and leader who will effectively represent the Greater North Fulton region in many environments.
  • A proven track record of successfully working with economic development organizations, governments, and community stakeholders. 

Specific Duties & Functions
Brand the Region - Facilitate the development of a brand and plan with a destination marketing agency (to be named) to distinctively identify the Greater North Fulton region as the premier business location in the southeast.

Market Greater North Fulton
Deploy new brand and marketing collateral through a regional and national marketing campaign to support the generation of more business location “leads.”

Expand Greater North Fulton’s Talent Pipeline
Develop and retain local talent through collaborating with area education institutions and local businesses; and recruit and educate employers to offer internships and apprenticeships in high-demand careers.

Attract New Talent 
Develop and implement a national talent attraction campaign.

Connect Employers and Talent
Become an extension of employers’ HR Department by providing policy, programmatic, and partnership strategies.

Elevate Regional Economic Development
Strengthen municipal economic development teams by convening and taking action on initiatives that will enhance the region’s economic vitality.
Build and implement, with economic development partners in the region, a Business Retention and Expansion program.

Advocacy
Identify and address policy issues that impact businesses and the region.

How To Apply for the North Fulton Economic Alliance Position
The North Fulton Economic Alliance (NFEA) has partnered with The Chason Group (TCG) to lead the Executive Director search. TCG is recognized throughout the southeast for conducting senior level executive searches for economic development organizations, chambers of commerce, convention and visitors bureaus, foundations, and other nonprofits.

Candidates will be vetted by the TCG team using a pre-approved weighting scale. The most qualified professionals will receive a detailed application to complete. Zoom interviews will be held with the top candidates by the TCG team. The interview process will include at least two in-person meetings with the NFEA Search Committee. The second interview session will require the selected candidate(s) to make a brief presentation to the committee. The NFEA anticipates the start date for the new Executive Director in June 2025.
