Dear Colleagues and Friends,

Georgia's Greatest Competitive Advantage Isn't Geography—It's Partnership

When prospective companies ask why Georgia continues to lead the nation in economic development, the conversation often begins with our strategic location, world-class ports, extensive rail network, interstate highways, international airport, and exceptional workforce. Those assets are certainly among the best in the country, and they have helped position Georgia as a premier destination for business investment. But after years of working alongside economic developers across our state, I've come to believe that our greatest competitive advantage isn't found on a map—it's found in our partnerships. Every successful project reflects the collective efforts of local development authorities, chambers of commerce, utilities, educational institutions, state agencies, elected officials, and private-sector partners working toward a common goal. That spirit of collaboration is what companies remember long after the site visit ends.

As competition for new investment continues to intensify, our ability to work together will remain Georgia's defining strength. Economic development is not about one community winning at another's expense; it's about creating opportunities that strengthen our state as a whole. When Georgia succeeds, every region benefits through stronger supply chains, expanded markets, workforce opportunities, and increased economic resilience. That collaborative mindset has earned Georgia a reputation that extends far beyond our borders—a place where organizations work together, challenges are met with solutions, and relationships are valued as much as results. As we look toward the future, I am confident that our willingness to share ideas, support one another, and celebrate each other's successes will continue to distinguish Georgia as the best place in America to live, work, and do business.
