Key Tasks and Responsibilities (Project-based) Manage project teams that facilitate community, economic, and workforce development research and strategic planning on behalf of our clients as well as the project in its entirety. Create and execute detailed project work plans and internal review schedules, revising as needed; schedules and leads regular team meetings. Serve as the client’s primary contact and is responsible for developing and maintaining a positive, proactive, long- term relationship with the client with a strong knowledge base of each client’s organization and objectives. Conduct interviews and focus groups with community and business leaders. Develop evidence-based community, economic, and workforce development strategic recommendations for our clients and help clients plan for implementation. Oversee and contribute to the development of research deliverables, assisting project teams with analysis and interpretation of quantitative and qualitative data. Facilitate client meetings and present findings to small and large leadership groups. Keep the management team informed of project progression, and any possible problems that could arise which require their attention or intervention.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities (Market Street/Internal) Assist in business development including presenting and/or attending meetings, conferences, seminars, and training classes; develops proposals for new projects or clients, and in answer to RFPs. Contributes to a team that is constantly innovating and evolving its approach to better serve our clients. Over time, comes to possess a thorough understanding of Market Street Services’ philosophy, products, services, and past clients; internal processes; and suggests changes and new approaches. Personal and Professional Abilities Excellent management skills and community, economic, and workforce development knowledge. Team oriented personality; acknowledges and appreciates each team member’s efforts. Demonstrates good judgment and recognizes circumstances that require attention of the management team. Possesses strong analytical, writing, and proofreading skills – can clearly communicate feedback to team members. Possesses the ability to aggregate, display, and map data to “tell a story” about community trends. Receptive to suggestions for changing or improving the way work is accomplished. Effective listening and questioning skills. Exceptional time management skills and proven ability to multi-task; must be able to manage 2-3 projects simultaneously. Excellent interviewing, meeting facilitation, and public speaking skills. Able to travel overnight up to twice a month (or more if needed) for client meetings/professional development.

Education and Experience Minimum Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree preferred. Four to five years’ experience in the community economic, or workforce development landscape preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience working in a chamber of commerce, economic development organization, or consulting and/or strategic planning environment preferred.
