Job Description & Details:

The Development Authority of Bryan County is now seeking qualified applicants for the position of Workforce Development and Existing Industry Project Manager.

This position is to serve as a workforce development and existing industry project manager and report to the Director of Business Recruitment and Existing Industry of the Development Authority of Bryan County (DABC). This employee will be expected to devote his or her time to economic development and the objectives of the DABC.

The job will include performing duties essential to the operational success of the DABC to include, but not limited to, the items below:

Conduct an ongoing outreach and visitation program of all industries (to include a face-to-face survey with each industry annually).

Coordinate industry appreciation events at least twice annually.

Maintain an accurate database of industry contacts, including newly hired, promoted, or relocated industry executives.

Responsible for data collection, research, development, and production of presentations and publications that promote existing industry and workforce development.

Work with industry to identify needs and assist in developing appropriate programs, training services, and other resources for hiring and maintaining a quality workforce.

Serve as an advocate and assist industry in introducing and accessing the many resources and services of the workforce development system, and provide referrals to partners and other community agencies when appropriate (to include but not limited to Bryan County Schools; area technical colleges, colleges and universities, the Georgia Department of Labor, Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield soldier transition offices, WorkSource Coastal, etc.).

Engage Bryan County’s existing industries through creating and implementing strategies and action plans to meet employee recruitment, retention, and training needs, as well as introducing workforce development services.

Participate and support outreach and recruitment efforts by promoting and publicizing training classes/workshops, including staffing and/or presenting at job fairs and community events. Assist with the coordination and implementation of community job fairs.

Under the direction of the Director of Business Recruitment & Existing Industry, will need to develop and maintain personal relationships with workforce development contacts, including regional contacts for the Georgia Department of Labor, Georgia Department of Economic Development, WorkSource Coastal, the USO, Army Soldier for Life TAP, etc.

Attend board meetings and other DABC functions as requested by the Director of Business Recruitment and Existing Industry. Work with other staff to ensure all reports/attachments are prepared for board meetings and functions as necessary.

Inform the Director of Business Recruitment and Existing Industry of work progress and conflicts of all activities and projects.

Maintain self-motivation and ambitious work schedule; position will be expected to produce work drafts under tight deadlines with little to no direction that will be submitted to the Director of Business Recruitment and Existing Industry and reviewed and modified as necessary.

Work as a team player with other staff members.

Perform other duties as instructed by the Director of Business Recruitment and Existing Industry. These duties will be within reason and within appropriate boundaries.

Abide by the adopted personnel policy.

Maintain confidentiality of privileged information at all times.

Punctuality and attendance are essential.

Professional behavior is expected in the workplace and at all work-related functions.

Position may occasionally require overnight travel, as well as after-hours (outside Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM) participation in meetings and events.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required (with emphasis in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or Economics preferred). Candidates with experience in project management, economic development, workforce development, and/or event planning are preferred. Microsoft Office proficiency is required. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License or be able to secure the same within 45 days of employment.
