The Georgia Economic Developers Association (GEDA) is a non-profit association of professionals and volunteers who are involved with the economic development of the cities and counties of Georgia. GEDA was organized to increase the effectiveness of individuals involved in the practice of economic development in Georgia by encouraging cooperation, exchange of information, and upgrading of professional skills. GEDA's Statement on the Pending Tax Policy Proposals

The Georgia Economic Developers Association (GEDA) recognizes that affordability is a pressing concern for citizens across our state. We support income and property tax policies that address this challenge through careful evaluation and deliberate analysis. Georgia’s long-standing commitment to consistent and predictable fiscal policy—across administrations and political cycles—along with complementary strategic investments in logistics and workforce have been a cornerstone of our economic success and a key reason we’ve been ranked the number one state for business for twelve consecutive years. We urge policymakers to continue advancing pro-growth strategies that are comprehensive, fiscally responsible, and grounded in sound economic principles. Sudden or politically driven shifts in fiscal policy risk undermining the confidence of businesses that have invested in Georgia’s stable and reliable environment. GEDA encourages members of the House and Senate to follow the example set by Governor Kemp and the legislature in recent sessions by pursuing incremental, responsible measures that strengthen Georgia’s competitiveness, expand opportunity for all citizens, and preserve our position as the nation’s top state for business.
