January 2026 Chair's Column
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
First, I would like to thank each and every one within GEDA for entrusting the Chairmanship of this outstanding organization to me. I am humbled and appreciative beyond words. I intend to follow in the footsteps of past Chairs in maintaining the high standards that have made this organization successful. Many thanks as well to our immediate past Chair, Cal Wray, for his devoted time, in-depth knowledge, and selfless dedication to GEDA. I have huge shoes to fill and I intend to build upon the organization with the foundation Cal has laid.
Second, I look forward to working with our eager and enthusiastic President, Grant Cagle, to make this year the best year ever for GEDA! During my time on the board, we have made many great strides in introducing quality programs and growing the organization to be the best in the nation. Let’s continue to mentor those new to the profession and expend our resources for the betterment of economic development in the State of Georgia.
Third, to the GEDA membership, please know that I am dedicated to serving GEDA in the tradition of past leaders while keeping an eye on the future. Together we can accomplish many things that are positive for our profession. Quality networking. Mentorship. Legislative efforts. Education and career enhancement. All are important items to keep at the front of our minds for the next year. Please step up and volunteer to serve on a committee that speaks to areas in which you would like to participate and make a difference.
We will kick off the year with our annual Legislative Session. I encourage everyone to attend and support YOUR Georgia Economic Developers Association. I look forward to your support and seeing everyone at the Capitol very soon.
Happy New Year!
