Job Description

The Project Manager for Economic Development will manage, and coordinate initiatives aimed at attracting, retaining, and expanding businesses, fostering job growth, and supporting community development efforts. This role involves collaborating with local government agencies, businesses, developers, and community partners to implement economic development projects that drive sustainable growth and enhance the community’s economic vitality.


Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Management:

o Oversee economic development projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with strategic goals.
o Develop project timelines, budgets, and performance metrics.

Business Retention & Expansion:

o Serve as a primary point of contact for businesses considering expansion or relocation.
o Coordinate business outreach programs and maintain relationships with existing employers.

Community Engagement & Collaboration:

o Work closely with local government officials, chambers of commerce, nonprofits, and educational institutions to support economic initiatives.
o Facilitate public meetings, presentations, and stakeholder consultations.

Research & Analysis:

o Conduct market research, feasibility studies, and economic impact analysis to guide decision-making.
o Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

Marketing & Promotion:

o Assist in developing marketing materials, proposals, and digital content to promote the community to investors and businesses.
o Support trade shows, conferences, and site selection visits.

Compliance & Reporting:

o Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, grant requirements, and organizational policies.
o Track and report on project outcomes and key performance indicators (KPIs).
