Scott Poag Elected Southeast Regional Director of the Southern Economic Development Council

The Southern Economic Development Council (SEDC) is pleased to announce that Scott
Poag has been elected Southeast Regional Director of the association’s board of directors. Poag is
Director of Business Development at W&A Engineering in Augusta, GA. W&A Engineering is a
multidisciplinary engineering firm with offices in Athens, GA and Nashville, TN. As Southeast Regional
Director of SEDC, Poag will have a leadership role on the board’s executive committee and help to carry
out the association’s program of work for 2019. In addition, he will serve as a resource to State
leadership across a five State area including Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, and Florida.

Poag has years of experience in the field of economic development and brings a unique set of skills to the
organization.

“Scott has been a member of SEDC since 2013,” SEDC President Gene Stinson said. “I am excited we will
have the benefit of his leadership on our board, as we continue to expand the benefits we offer our
members working to advance economic prosperity in the communities they serve.”
